Corporate Insolvencies Are Decreasing…

According to figures from the Insolvency Service there were:
- 3,619 compulsory liquidations and creditors’ voluntary liquidations in England and Wales in the first quarter of 2013.
- In the twelve months ending within quarter 1 of 2013 approximately 1 in 154 active companies went into liquidation.
- Additionally there were 935 other corporate in solvencies in the first quarter of 2013, comprising 236 receiverships, 557 administrations and 142 company voluntary arrangements.
These numbers have decreased on previous quarters in previous years. That said, for us, when we are reviewing the figures, it makes us even more aware, how important our role in collecting outstanding invoices is for those businesses and organisations who may otherwise write off or leave amounts uncollected on their accounts which, in some cases can unfortunately contribute to a company’s closure.
