CCICM’s Head of Legal & Fiduciary Services gearing up to cook a Charity Christmas Day Festive Meal at the Llangollen Community Hall – St Collen’s Church

Every year, for the past 10 years, CCICM’s Head of Legal & Fiduciary Service Mike Connolly and his wife Val cook lunch in the Community Hall of St. Collen’s, Llangollen on Christmas Day, and this year is no different.

Mike and his wife are part of a team of volunteers who kindly donate their time on Christmas Day not only to cooking and serving delicious hot food to those who arrive in person to the Community Hall  – St. Collen’s Church but they also deliver some of their meals to people in their homes.

The lunch is funded by various local groups such as Rotary Club of Llangollen, Inner Wheel Club of Llangollen, and Llangollen Town Council.

The team will expect to cook between fifty and seventy meals with around forty five people coming to the hall to eat and the others being delivered to people in their homes.

The meal includes a choice of roast turkey with ‘all the trimmings’, poached salmon or a vegetarian/vegan choice is on offer.  Desserts include either Christmas pudding, trifle or a fruit salad.  The meal is followed by tea or coffee and either a mince pie or some Christmas cake.  There is a free raffle, everyone receives a gift and they also provide entertainment.

This is such a worth while event which offers companionship to those who otherwise may have been at home alone during this festive period or for those having their meal delivered, provides an entire Christmas Dinner which they may not have been able to prepare themselves.

The event is free to attend and all are welcome but booking is a must.  The event will be held at 12:30pm on 25th December 2021 at The Community Hall – St Collen’s Church.
